Know if your project is on track without digging through individual tasks. Simple Gantt's Overview dashboard gives you a risk score, workload distribution, phase status, and 15+ automatic validation checks — all in one view.
What you get
- ✓ Risk score (0-100) that weighs overdue tasks, blockers, unassigned work, and schedule variance
- ✓ Factor breakdown showing exactly what's contributing to project risk
- ✓ Workload distribution chart across assignees to spot overallocation
- ✓ Phase status summary with progress tracking for each project phase
- ✓ 15+ automatic validation rules catching missing dates, conflicts, and orphaned tasks
- ✓ Clear distinction between errors (must fix) and warnings (should review)
- ✓ One-click navigation from any validation issue to the affected task
A project risk score that tells you where to focus
Simple Gantt calculates a risk score from 0 (healthy) to 100 (critical) based on real signals from your project data. The score factors in overdue tasks, unassigned work, active blockers, schedule variance against baselines, and tasks missing start or end dates.
Each factor is weighted and broken down in the dashboard so you see not just the overall score but why it's at that level. A risk score of 65 might be driven primarily by overdue tasks (contributing 30 points) and unassigned work (contributing 20 points). That breakdown tells you exactly where to intervene.
The risk score updates in real time as you make changes. Assign those unassigned tasks, update those overdue dates, and watch the score improve — giving your team a concrete measure of progress on project hygiene.
Automatic validation rules for your Jira Gantt chart
The validation panel runs 15+ checks against your project and surfaces issues as errors or warnings. Errors are things that will cause scheduling problems: circular dependencies, tasks with end dates before start dates, or child tasks outside their parent's date range. Warnings are things that may indicate issues: tasks without assignees, phases with no tasks, or tasks with very long durations.
Each validation issue includes a description, the affected task, and a one-click link to navigate directly to that task in the Gantt view. You can work through the list systematically — fix an issue, and it disappears from the panel in real time.
Workload distribution and schedule visibility
The workload chart shows how tasks are distributed across team members. Quickly spot if one person is overloaded while others have capacity. Combined with the timeline view, you can reassign tasks by dragging them to balance the workload.
Phase status cards give you a high-level view of each project phase: how many tasks are complete, what percentage of work is done, and whether the phase is On Track, At Risk, or Off Track. This summary is often all a stakeholder needs in a status meeting — and it's always up to date.
Why this matters
Most Jira Gantt chart plugins show you a timeline and stop there. Simple Gantt goes further by actively analyzing your schedule for problems. Instead of discovering that half your tasks are missing dates during a stakeholder demo, the validation panel flags them as soon as they exist.
The risk score gives teams a shared language for project health. "Our risk score went from 45 to 62 this week" is more actionable than "things feel like they're slipping." It turns subjective impressions into data-driven conversations.
